Grant Burge Buttery Ink Chardonnay
Description
Grant Burge Buttery Ink Chardonnay — Barossa Valley, South Australia, 13% ABV. On-trade exclusive. Buttery stone fruit, creamy vanilla oak, silky mouthfeel. Pale gold with green tints in the glass; the nose is immediately recognisable — ripe stone fruit (peach, nectarine), rich butter, and a well-integrated toasty oak character that defines the Buttery Ink signature. On the palate, the wine is round and full, with a creamy texture built through malolactic fermentation, a fruit-forward mid-palate, and a soft lingering finish with vanilla spice. The winemaking favours texture and richness over high-acid restraint — the result is a Chardonnay that excels as a solo table pour as well as a food companion across a wide range of cuisines.
On-trade positioning: The only SKU from the Grant Burge Buttery Ink range not available in retail — giving the on-trade a genuine exclusive and a meaningful point of differentiation for wine lists competing against supermarket carry-outs. The broad, crowd-pleasing style and recognisable Barossa Chardonnay character make it a strong house white candidate: high repeat-order rate, broad food compatibility (chicken, seafood, creamy pasta, Asian fusion), and the Grant Burge five-generation provenance story for staff to deliver at the table. Exclusive-on-trade label should be called out in menu copy where possible to reinforce the venue's differentiation.
