Grant Burge 5th Generation Shiraz
Description
Grant Burge 5th Generation Shiraz — Barossa Valley, South Australia, 14.5% ABV. Crimson red with a violet hue; lifted mulberry, clove, plum, and milk chocolate on the nose with confectionery notes. The palate is plush and vibrant — strawberry jam, milk chocolate, and cinnamon with finely balanced acid and tannin.
On-trade positioning: The 5th Generation Shiraz is the Grant Burge entry into the mid-premium Barossa Shiraz tier — more concentrated and structured than the Classic Shiraz, and a credible sommelier pick that doesn't require a long conversation to justify. The Barossa designation is meaningful: it drives confidence at the table when guests are deciding between Australian reds. The milk chocolate and cinnamon character is particularly Singapore-friendly — it reads as generous and warming rather than tannic and austere. Pair with red meat, braised dishes, aged cheddar, and dark chocolate. Use it to build the Shiraz flight: Classic → 5th Gen → Miamba → Meshach.
