Château Magnan de Gaffelière Saint-Émilion Grand Cru — Bordeaux, 14% ABV. Vintage 2020. A classified right-bank Bordeaux from one of Bordeaux's most celebrated appellations. Merlot-dominant with Cabernet Franc; deep ruby with a complex, concentrated nose of dark cherry, violet, cedar and fine spice. On the palate the wine is structured and authoritative with exquisitely fine-grained tannins, perfectly integrated oak and a persistently long, dark-fruit finish. Cellar 8–15 years; already approachable with 45 minutes of decanting. A genuine Grand Cru statement wine.
