Hardys HRB Riesling
Description
Hardys HRB Riesling — South Australia, 12.4% ABV. Heritage Reserve Bin white — a multi-region blend that draws on Australia's premium Riesling-growing regions to produce a wine of genuine aromatic precision and structural clarity. The colour is a pale straw with a clean green hue. The nose is fragrant and bright: orange blossom and lemon zest lead, layered with ripe white peach and an underlying jasmine note of real delicacy. On the palate the wine shows the characteristic Riesling tension between fruit sweetness and refreshing natural acidity — clean, focussed, and long. At 12.4% ABV it is the lightest wine in the HRB range and, handled well, one of the most food-versatile whites in the Hardys portfolio.
On-trade positioning: HRB Riesling is the specialist white for operators whose food menu includes significant spice, acidity, or Asian-influenced flavours — the wine's natural zestiness and aromatic lift are tailored for Thai, Indian, Vietnamese, and Chinese cuisines where richer whites often clash. The Heritage Reserve Bin positioning gives it the credibility to hold a BTG slot in a considered wine programme, not simply as a value pour. Sell it to operators running fusion or pan-Asian menus as the house white with a genuine pairing rationale: the Riesling acidity cuts through spice and fat while the fruit sweetness balances heat. It also pairs well with seafood, light poultry, and fresh Vietnamese-style preparations. As a point of list differentiation, a premium Australian Riesling remains an under-listed variety in Singapore — an opportunity for operators who want a talking-point white with real food-pairing substance behind it.
